Box of sutures consisting of 10 sealed glass tubes each containing a needle and catgut sutures; there are three size 0 sutures (a-c), four size 1 (d-g), and three size 2 (h-j); the box is made from yellow cardboard with a white label; it opens at the top and the tubes stand up inside it (similar to a crayon box); the box can hold 12, two have been removed.

Provenance
Belonged to the donor's father who worked as a ship's medical officer during the Second World War.
The company was established in 1909 and their production factory moved from New York to Connecticut in 1951. A label on the box indicates that the company had been in existence for over 30 years.
