A hemometer in a case consisting of the haemometer (a) which is a black, metal, rectangular object standing on its end with a base at the bottom and a hinged top; one side has a white glass plate; there is also a rubber hose (b) with glass tubes coming out of either end; there are two other thin glass tubes (c,d) as well as a wooden cylindrical case witch unscrews into two separate halves (e,f) with a glass bottle inside (g) containing a sediment-rich liquid; there is also an instruction booklet (h); the case (i) is made of black painted wood and has blue cloth and blue velvet interior.

Provenance
This artifact was used by the donor's uncle Dr. Walter Barnhart during the 1920s to the 1940s in his personal lab; possibly for arthritis research.
