Research Facts
The crutches are called auxiliary crutches or under arm crutches; designed to fit under the patients armpit; used mostly for temporary injuries in north america; because the crutches are marked with VIMY it is theorized that this term was used as a promotional patriotic tool commemorating the battle at Vimy Ridge in 1917.
