Handpiece for Nd:YAG laser (a) with customized sterilization platform (b); handpiece consists of heavy metal cylinder with luer-lok hook-up; mid-handle has a section of black plastic covering a rigid shaft containing the beginning of a fibre optic cable; micro-cable (1.83 m) covered in opaque white plastic tubing with a cautery tip on the end; prism at the plug-in end; square metal sterilization platform consists of open wire mesh with three spring-loaded clamps in custom array to hold handpiece and fibre optic cabe with angled holding posts at each corner.
