Jack Tippit was born October 19th, 1923, and was a gag cartoonist for a number of successful publications, including The New Yorker and the Saturday Evening Post. He served in the American Air Force during World War II and the Korean War, and went on to win a number of awards for his cartoon work in the 1960s and 1970s. Some of his most famous comic strips include "Amy," "Doctor Bill," and "Henry."
