Fabric severely faded to a golden yellow colour from original burgundy, except where artefacts blocked light; wood is worn and scratched; metal has some tarnishing and corrosion; ivory had developed a yellowish patina where exposed to the light; bristles are somewhat loose; box does not fully close; wood split on bottom of case and on handle of lenticular (b)
