Dental anaesthesia unit, metal enamelled in green and black (a); black top with silver metal railing at sides and back; to the left and right are metal knobs, tank attachments and circular gauges for cyclopropane, nitrous oxide, oxygen and carbon dioxide; gauges have glass coverings, white paper and red, black and grey ink; at top are four rectangular gauges for each gas showing litres per minute, c.c's per minute for NO2; front of cabinet has four drawers with black handles and lined with green felt on right side; door to cabinet on left; inside are coiled black rubber tubes attached to a rebreather bag and metal tank; four rubber black wheels at bottom of unit; metal chain hanging from bottom of unit; white metal oxygen tank attached at right (b); black rubber rebreather bag (c) attaches via silver metal attachment to black rubber tubing (d); adult black rubber inhaler (e); two coiled black rubber tubes (f, g); two rubber black straps, perhaps to attach mask to face (h, i); smaller rubber and metal attachment (j); loose black knob (k); five sections of yellow rubber tubing (l, m, n, o, p)

Unit scratched at top; enamel chipped at front of unit; metal at wheels, inside drawers and cabinet corroded; paper darkened and faded on nitrous oxide gauge; rubber hardened at end on (f, g); rubber sticky but malleable on yellow piping (l, m, n, o, p)

Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this item was originally used by a colleague of Dr. Harry Tregobov from Winnipeg, Manitoba; it was purchased used in 1962 from a hospital in Saskatchewan and would be used while Dr. Tregobov performed dental work
