Black-enamelled metal dental instrument; gold enamel decoration around bottom and lever, with tic-tac-toe-like grid drawn on top; base is rectangular with one rounded end; from this end the instrument goes upward then curves back across to the other side; grey metal cutting apparatus in the shape of a square with semi-circles cut out into all sides attached on bottom; apparatus lowers down onto base when lever is pushed downward; lever is on a hinge above apparatus; protective yellow metal covering around three outside edges of cutting apparatus

Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this instrument cuts x-ray film or creates some type of film packing
