Research Facts
Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this item was donated by Dr. Marc Trepanier from Farnham ,Quebec; Fritz Webecke founded Webecke & Co. in Lubeck, Germany in 1946; during the 1950s the company specialized in small medical intrument steam sterilizers before continuing on with large scale steam sterilizers and vacuum sterilizers in the 1960s; the company recently celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2006; this sterilizer was different than most because it did not use water and steam but hot air only to sterilize instruments
