Research Facts
Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; Pituitrin is a drug made from bovine pituitary gland extract; the pamphlet states that Pituitrin can stimulate the muscular fibres of the bladder and thus increase diuresis, it is used in cases of uterine inertia, it can lower the risk of surgical shock and it can help restore peristalsis after abdominal surgery, minimizing "gas-pains"
