Research Facts
Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008.
The Faculty of Dentistry was created in 1925 when the University of Toronto took over teaching from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario; the two had been affiliated since 1888, though the RCDS had been teaching dental students since 1868; the Faculty is now the largest in Canada (2010), graduating up to 100 dentists per year and is the foremost dental research centre in Canada.
