Research Facts
Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this item is the F. A. Brewer Universal applying forceps, which is specially designed for spreading the clamp by means of perforations in the jaws of the clamp, however it may also grasp the clamp by its hoop; rubber dams are used to keep moisture away from the tooth and operating field; the clamps help the dams to stay in place
