Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this item was donated by Dr. P. Ralph Crawford from Winnipeg, Manitoba; the earliest publishing date would be 1903, when Dr. Cunningham arrived at the University of Edinburgh; a more likely first publishing date is 1909, the year he died; one of the editors, Dr. Matthew Cryer, died in 1921.
