Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; this item was owned by Dr. Terry Kearns from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario; this machine is from the practice of Dr. Joseph A. Dietrich, who graduated from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario in 1922; in 1922 Dr. Dietrich established a practice at 338 Pape Avenue in Toronto that ran until 1976
