Single ended silver metal dental plugger with broken tip with cylindrical faceted handle with tight lines in each facet raised design and thin double angled hook on end; bottom of handle is smooth and round; tip has a minor hole drilled into it and appears like it could be removed from the shaft.

Dr Ralph and Mrs Olga Crawford donated their extensive Canadian dental collection to the DCF to create the museum in 1997; further donations were received while Dr Crawford was Curator Emeritus at the Dental Canada Museum until its closure in 2008; instrument meets the description and image of the "no. 4" plugger of "Dr. J.A. Watling's Revised Set" as advertised by the S.S. White Dental Mfg. Co. in their catelog. According to the description this instrument was designed "to be used in most of the approximal cavities; especially convenient in filing the front teeth and for working around slight undercuts."
