Research Facts
This style of bottle was called the 'Knickerbocker Ovals' and the moulds took lettered plates that allowed for the embossing on the bottles.
Mr. John Roberts was one of the pioneer druggists of Canada and a native of Kinross, Scotland and one of the richest druggists in Canada at the time of his death in 1892. A large part of his estate was left to his nephew Mr. J. Roberts Allan, who was associated with his business.
