Clear glass bottle with paper label on one side and full of clear liquid contents; has white plastic screw cap and no neck to the bottle except what the cap covers; the paper label is yellow on the outside with illustrations of insects (a mosquito and a fly) in each of the upper corners, a blue cirlce inside of which the product name is printed in white ink, below which is a white cloud illustration in which the product's purpose is printed in red and the insects it protects against are listed in blue; the amount is also printed on this side of the label; the backside of the label, which can be read through the clear glass and clear contents of the bottle, contains directions printed in English and French as well as the manufacturing information; the bottle cap has a sticker on top which reads "Eaton's" in dark blue ink; the bottom of the bottle contains raised numbers.

Ethylhexanediol was shown by Union Carbide to potentially produce birth defects in animals, including their lungs failing to inflate when they are born. Because of this discovery, products like 6-12 Insect Repellent were taken off the shelves in the 1990s and pregnant and child-bearing age women were urged not to use it.
