(a) surface varnish has flaked off on 20% of top and bottom surfaces; interior rim is also worn and surface around central swinging arm; (c) good condition, small signs of wear around male cone and lock pins; (d) rust visible in conical portion of head; metal plating worn off to expose brasscoloured base metal around flange; padding around lamp looks brittle and deteriorated; (e) metal surface is mottled; shiny areas of metal have given way to dull areas over 50-60% of surface; (f) normal signs of wear around male cone and lock pins; (g) rust visible in conical portion of head; metal plating worn off to expose brass-coloured base metal around flange; padding around lamp looks brittle and has deteriorated around top of lamp; (h) greenish accretion under clip of rotating contacts; white powdery accretion on black plastic head where it attaches to metal tongue; black marks on arm of left plug; (i) same mottled surface as obdurator (e); shiny areas give way to dull areas; (b) surface accretion next to trade mark at word "MARK"; some slight discolouration of surface on black surface under "CAN" of "AMERICAN"; some white specks (chips?) on black surface on reverse; (l) surface speckles of black and brown; very small and minimal number; (o-u) dusty
