A wax model (moulage) of a uterus with a large intramural fibroid and an enlarged multilocular ovarian cyst on the left side; the model is made of oil-painted beeswax with talc built up on a plywood block support with a wire within the model leading from the uterus to the cystic ovary (for support); the model shows a uterus distorted with a large fibroid; to the right is a normal fallopian tube and ovary; to the left, is an enlarged cystic ovary; a subtotal hysterectomy has been performed on the patient; the model is painted to depict true colour.

Condition Remarks
The model has a major break at the point where the cystic ovary and fallopian tube attaches to the uterus (left side) and the inner wire is visible; the rest of the model shows no chips, cracks or breaks in the wax; the surface is undamaged; the break needs to be repaired as it is prone to further damage if handled at all
