A wax model (moulage) of a uterus with a large submucous fibroid; the model is made of oil-painted beeswax with talc, built up on a plywood base; the model shows a uterus with a subtotal hysterectomy (cervix left); the uterine arteries have been tied and the uterus split open to reveal a large submucous fibroid the bottom of which is necrosed; some hemorrhage is visible; the fallopian tubes and ovaries appear to be normal; the model has been painted to depict true colour.

Condition Remarks
The model shows no cracks or breaks in the wax; a small section has chipped off and should be reattached at some point; model is very stable; the surface is undamaged
