Fat caliper in box, which consists of (a) a fat caliper that has two flat metal blades which are rounded at the ends and come together; the blades are held together at the handle end with two cylindrical metal springs; the caliper has an attached cylindrical plastic handle and a round plastic and metal gauge that reads in mm. at the handle end; there is also a flat rounded piece of metal that can be pulled with the thumb while holding the handle to open the blades; the tips of the blades have small flat rectangular pieces that fit together tightly when the blades are closed; the caliper fits into (b) a rectangular wooden box with a lid attached with two metal hinges at the back and a single clasp at the front; the inside of the lid is lined with foam; the inside bottom of the box has a molded blue plastic liner that has a dark blue felt cover on its upper side; the bottom side is uncovered; the liner has a molded depression in the shape of the fat caliper, and is designed to hold it securely in the box

The calipers (a) show very little wear and no damage; the gauge does not register changes (not properly set?); the metal shows no corrosion; the plastic parts are complete and undamaged; (b) the wooden box shows very little wear; there is one small indentation mark on the lid; the felt shows minor wear; the plastic and foam are complete and undamaged
