Deschamp's aneurysm needle, left, blunt, which consists of an instrument made of a single piece of metal; the handle is a long, closed hollow piece with a flat top and bottom and a rounded end; the handle tapers inwards from the end to where it attaches to the needle shaft; the shaft is made of solid cylindrical metal which curves outwards and upwards at the needle tip into a semi-circular shape with a blunt, rounded tip; there is an oval hole through the metal just before the tip; the top of the needle tip has a groove in the centre.
