(a) An instrument sterilizer which is comprised of a large, deep steel box with semi-circular, hinged handles on either end; the top edge has a marked lip that protrudes around the box opening; on one end there is a steam release valve; the steel sieve tray (b) is a long, shallow tray of mesh wire with upturned sides and square-shaped handles protruding at 90 deg. on both ends; the heat element (c) fits underneath the sieve; the heat element is a flattened oval-shaped closed chamber with ten holes punched through on both ends; on one end a small door opens allowing users to replace fuel; there are also small ring-shaped handles on each end; the lid (d) is a flat, rectangular steel plate that rises in the middle to a raised mid-section, topped with a squared handle fastened with solder; off centre there is a cork-stoppered hole that allows for steam release

Condition Remarks
Sterilizer shows signs of extensive inactive corrosion, especially on lid; sieve tray and heat element are in very good condition; #2: some corrosioon on lid.
