Syringe kit, which consists of three pieces housed in a metal case; the syringe consists of (a) the syringe barrel and (b) the plunger; the barrel is made of hollow cylindrical glass with a round open end that has rounded finger grip pieces that come out at the top and bottom; the tip end of the syringe is tapered and open and has a metal Luer-Lok rounded attachment; the plunger is made of hollow cylindrical glass with a flat round closed tip and a closed end that has a round flat closed thumb-push piece; the plunger tip fits snugly into the barrel and the thumb-push piece sticks out; a metal needle (c) fits onto the tip of the barrel; the tip has an open round base that has a squared gripping area which tapers inwards to join with the needle; the needle is a hollow length of narrow cylindrical metal tubing that has an open, sharp bevelled tip; all pieces of the syringe are stored in an elongated metal case (d); the case has a lid which is hinged at the back and has a clasp at the front; the inside bottom of the case has a metal insert which has metal tabs designed to hold the syringe parts securely

(a) The side of the barrel has increment lines and the numbers, "2 // 4 // 6 // 8 // 10 cc" as well as the words, "YALE B-D LOK-SYRINGE // Becton Dickinson & Co. // 74594"; (b) the plunger has the number "74594" on the outside near the thumb-push; (c) the needle base has the words, "YALE // RUSTLESS" stamped into the metal on one side and "B-D // 22" on the other; the round area has "PAT. NO. 2076121" stamped into the metal; (d) the top of the case lid has the raised letters "B-D" in the centre
