The aneurysm clip applicator has a scissor-like handle with thumb and mid-finger holds; both handles are bevelled and saddle-like; 4.5 cm from the thumb ring is a circular-topped bolt, fully threaded, with a serrated top, that goes through upper and lower handles, acting as a lock and release mechanism for the applicator; riveted to the lower sides of top inner handles is a flat, metal strip extending to just below the serrated bolt inserted on the inside of lower handle; this strip acts as a spring; 9 cm from base of handle is a sliding box joint with two attached blades extending for 14 cm; distal end is shaped like a duck's head, with a beak; inner side of "beak" has serrated markings ending with jaws that meet at each end.
