Hemacytometer, in a case that contains several parts in a case; the set consists of (a) a white cell counting pipette with mouthpiece and tubing; the pipette is a hollow cylindrical piece of glass with a round, open end and a tip that is tapered to a blunt point with a very small, round opening; the centre of the pipette has a hollow, bulbous section with a small, rounded clear glass bead inside; there is a length of hollow cylindrical rubber tubing attached to the end of the pipette; the other end of the rubber tubing has an attached mouthpiece; the mouthpiece is made of hollow cylindrical ivory with open ends that have rounded lips; there is a rounded, raised ridge at the centre of the mouthpiece; the set also contains (b) a red cell counting pipette mouthpiece with tubing; the mouthpiece is made of hollow cylindrical red plastic with open ends that have rounded lips; there is a rounded, raised ridge at the centre of the mouthpiece; one end of the mouthpiece has a length of hollow cylindrical rubber tubing attached to it; the other end of the tubing is round and open; the set also contains (c) a glass counting chamber; this consists of a flat rectangular-shaped piece of glass with a thin, raised square piece of glass set into the centre that has a raised round section in its centre; there is writing on the glass on either side of the central square piece; the set also contains (d) a slip cover; this is a very thin, flat square-shaped piece of glass with rounded corners; the counting chamber and slip cover are wrapped in (e) a piece of glassine paper that has printed information on it; all pieces in the set are stored in (f) a leather-covered, felt-lined wooden case; the case is rectangular in shape and has a lid that is hinged onto the base at the back; there is a pin at the front right side that secures the lid on the case; the inside top and base are blue velvet lined, and the base has depressions that securely hold the pieces of the set; the outside bottom of the case has two paper labels attached to it; both labels have names written on them; the outside top of the case has a word stamped onto it in gold lettering.

The glass pieces are all complete and show no damage as do the ivory and plastic pieces; the rubber is unstained and still flexible; the case shows wear, but is complete; #2: condition unchanged; #3: doesn't open
