Poster designed to have three printed framings; the outermost frame is plain, but this frame has been cut off at the top and bottom edges; the middle frame is a pale green border with red and blue maple leaves on a white geometrical pattern; the printer's trademarks are printed on the four corners of this frame; the inner frame mimics a wooden frame with many planes and an elliptical title plaque at the bottom; each frame is edged in black, and white lines separate the frames; the poster depicts various types of work in a pharmacy as a comical cartoon; three plants, a crow, two snakes and nine figures appear in the poster's apothecary scene; each figure has two big eyes, two antennae on the forehead, and two insect front legs growing from one ear, mostly on the left; the male figures are bald but the female figures have hair; some figures are dressed in lab coats and in a nurse's uniform; abacus is used at the sales counter; there are humorous signs on the apothecary items; a book entitled "Pharmacopeia Dingbat," "Herudo Medicinalis" on a jar, and "Eau de Vie" on a bottle's label
The artist's signature, "Alex McLaren," is printed as a part of the picture, at the lower right corner; the title of the picture, "PHARMACY // IN DINGBAT LAND" is printed on the plaque on the frame; the printer's square trademark on each corner reads "Frosst" in red letters on a black border on a red maple leaf in a red circle; the border is edged in red outside of the maple leaf; the background is black inside and outside of the circle.
