Intravenous drug administration needle, which consists of a short cylindrical hollow base with a slightly upturned open Luer-Lok end; the other end has an attached hollow cylindrical needle with a closed, bevelled tip and an opening 0.8 cm in from the tip; above the needle there is a flat piece of metal covered with a plastic cuff; this cuff covers the opening in the needle; the upper piece can be moved to either cover or uncover the needle opening and swivels from the base on a screw pivot.
