The hook connector (a) consists of a flat, rectangular base with a round, threaded hole in the centre to accomodate a bolt (b); two flat, metal walls extend up from the base at a 90° angle, on the two longer sides; both walls taper to form two rounded, hook-like extensions; when the bolt (b) is inserted into the hole in the base to its full extent, the blunt end of the bolt rests between the two walls, just above the beginning of the tapered hook component; at the opposite end of the bolt, there is a flat, oval turning grip with raised metal lines on its top and bottom surfaces.

Condition Remarks
The hook connector shows moderate signs of wear in the form of scratches and gouges; a 0.4 cm-long chip of plating has flaked away, along the inner edge of one hook extension; the hook was dusty, and when cleaned with a cotton swab and alcohol, bluish-green traces of corrosion were seen on the swab; parts move freely
