Separatory funnel, which consists of a hollow glass bulb, with an open, cylindrical neck at its top and an open glass tube with a stopcock at its bottom; the inner surface of the neck is frosted glass; the bottom of the bulb tapers to form the glass tube; a horizontal, hollow glass cylinder intercepts this tube and serves as a stopcock housing; after this cylinder, the tube flares slightly and its outer surface is frosted; the tube continues to taper and becomes smooth; it ends in a rough, flat tip with a round hole.
In frosted glass on the outside of the bulb, a stylized "Q" appears, with some illegible printing inside; written underneath this in white ink is "D2/02"

The separatory funnel was covered with a chalky, white substance, possible mineral deposits from water staining; the bottom opening at the end of the tube is chipped; funnel is missing stopper and stopcock cone.
