The Cushing artery forceps are scissor-like, made up of two halves joined with a box-lock joint and a snap-catch ratchet; the handles are straight with rounded edges and closed, rounded finger grips coming off each end; the blades are straight with rounded outer edges, tapering to a fine rounded tip. The inside of the blade is flat and smooth, then changes to gripping grooves on the upper half.
