The rib raspatory is a solid, double-ended instrument with a flat, oval-shaped handle with smooth, oval-shaped gripping grooves on top and bottom; one end tapers in and then out to form a rectangular section; the top has a ridge in the centre with horizontal grooves before; the tip curves down to a sharp edge; bottom is flat; the other end tapers in and out to a square piece with rounded edges and two small concave pieces at either side.
