Razor blade, which consists of a rectangular metal blade (a) in a rectangular cardboard band (b) in a rectangular paper wrapper (c); the blade has a folded metal base, from which extends a thin, rectangular blade, with an oblong hole in its centre and semicircular notches at its side; it is wrapped in a rectangular cardboard band which is folded over three times; both parts are wrapped in a thin paper wrapper to form a rectangular package.
The paper label reads, "GEM // MICROMATIC // BLADE // SINGLEDGE // GEM BLADE // REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. // GUARANTEED BY // GEM DIVISION // AMERICAN SAFETY RAZOR CORP. // BROOKLYN 1. N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A. // Avoid '5 o'clock Shadow' // HOLD RAZOR // FLAT AGAINST FACE"; in raised metal letters at the base of the razor blade, "GEMBLADE" appears; on the oopposite side of the base, "PATS 1739280 //1773614 // GEM // MADE IN // U.S.A." appears in raised metal letters.

Condition Remarks
The blade was in very good condition; there were no signs of corrosion, and it appeared unused; both the band and wrapper were yellowing; the wrapper also had a small hole in two of its folded corners; there was a brown deposit, 0.8 cm x 0.7 cm on the wrapper's inner surface; there were particles of dust and dirt inside the wrapper.
