Bacon's bone rongeur, which consists of three joined parts that make up a plier-like instrument; the handles are mirror-image and curve outwards and have rounded ends; the tops of the handles join together with a screw joint; beyond the handles are the blades; the blades curve at a 45° angle to the left, and have rounded tips; the inner edges of the blades are flat and the tips have concave elongated oval areas; the outer edges of the concave areas are sharp; the outer edges of the blades are sharp; the handles also have flat inner edges and rounded outer edges; there is a tension bar attached to the lower inside edge of the right handle and curving upward to hit against the upper inside left handle; the bar provides tension between the handles when they are squeezed together.

The outer edge of the right handle has the words "STILLE // SWEDEN" within an elongated oval that has a five-pointed star at the right and left ends; to the right of this is another five-pointed star; all stamped into the metal.
