B-D steritube, which consists of a cylindrical metal tube (a) and a brown rubber cap (b); the tube has a round opening at one end tapers twice to form a rounded, closed tip at the other; there are two small holes in the side of the tube near its open end; a coiled spring is set in the tube just below its opening; a rectangular, yellowed piece of masking tape is affixed to its outer surface, ¼ of the way from its open end; the cap fits over this end, and is round with an open end, straight sides, and a raised top
On the outer surface of the top of the cap, "B-D" appears in raised letters; three slanted lines appear faintly on the masking tape, possibly made by magic marker.

Condition Remarks
The metal tube was in very good condition, with only minor signs of wear; the rubber cap is deteriorating; its raised top had cracks in a circular pattern covering 1/8 of its surface.
