Original Semmelweis antiseptic midwifery basin; used at first clinic of obstetrics at Vienna University Hospital; donor graduated from Queen's University in Kingston in 1906 and did postgraduate work in Germany and Austria around 1919, returning to toronto to be obstetrician-gynaecologist on staff at Toronto Western Hospital; Anton Fischer Earthenware was founded in 1832 and existed until 1905 when Fischer's son added porcelain and named the factory "A Fischer Son Earthenware Factory"; country of origin is Bohemia, Austro-Hungarian Empire (modern Czech Republic).
