Research Facts
Dr. Garnier had an international reputation as an expert cataract surgeon; he would remove the cataract with the patient sitting in a chair in his office; inplace of the spud he had whittled a small concave piece of wood that he laid across the eye and by gentle pressure extracted the cataract.
