Glass X-ray tube, through which metal tube is visible, and also a second glass tube with wire; halfway down the tube is the lens set in a metal sleeve; metal ends, one of which is threaded; no radiator fins; tube rests in semicircular cutouts on a wooden base, with wooden hal-circles that fasten over top of the tube to attach it more firmly to the base.

Anode face was at an angle of 20° (early tubes were at 45°); this allowed a heavy load to be used, but focal spot sixe did not have to be increased, as geometrically focal spot size appeared small, due to the angle of the anode face.
