Purple velvet-covered rectangular shaped jewellery box, with a hinged lid; the box is made of heavy cardboard with a velvet covering on the outside and an off-white satin lining on the inside; the bottom of the box has its inside edges lined with cloth and a removable velvet-covered inset piece which is flat and holds a ring, a medal, and a pin; the top of the box hinges onto the bottom with a hinge at the back and a clasp at the front; the jewellers' name is printed on the inside of the lid; measurements are for closed position of lid
