Research Facts
"A colourless, yellow, or green oil with an agreeable camphoraceous odour and a bitter, aromatic, camphoraceous taste, obtained by distillation from the fresh leaves and twigs of certain species of Melaleuca such as M. cajuputi and M. leucadendron. Uses: employed internally as a carminative and externally as a stimulant and mild rubefacient in rheumatism. It is an ingredient in some ointments and liniments."
Also used as a stimulant, antispasmodic, diaphoretic (induce sweating), and for hysteria, flatulent colic, debility, chronic rheumatism, gout, and toothache. Also known as Cajuputi Oleum.
