Sept 2022: overall good; wax figure has very faint cracks and some minor flaking over surface; paper label discolouring; metal tacks rusting slightly.

Louis Niclet (1867–1924) was made official modeller at the Hôpital St.- Louis following the death of Jules Barretta in 1923. Niclet made 480 moulages in his career, all with great attention to detail.
Ecthyma refers to a type of skin infection that causes sores deep in the skin. Gonococcal ecthyma refers to skin lesions caused by the bacteria that causes gonorrhea.
