Feb. 2022: overall fair condition; wax model has several deep cracks, one running diagonally from one side to other, intersected by vertical crack running up to wrist; loss of piece of wax near where cracks join; general discolourating and faint scratches on surface of wax; wooden mount has vertical crack in top right corner; paper label discoloured and left-hand metal tack slightly rusted.
Feb. 2022: Due to large cracks, should be handled with care; not recommended for transport outside of museum.

Louis Niclet (1867–1924) was made official modeller at the Hôpital St.-Louis following the death of Jules Barretta in 1923. Niclet made 480 moulages in his career, all with great attention to detail.
