Used as an anti-inflammatory agent, eases stomach and throat pain, and helps with weight loss management. Has been in use for 4000+ years as food, medicine and in arts (used as glue by Ancient Eygptians). It comes from a liquid substance taken from the plant dissolved into water and forming a gum. Fibres in the gum lead to weight loss by making patients feel full. Used as flavouring, clouding agent and as a stabilizer in drinks.
