A leather rollup case with a strap that wraps around; compartments for glass vials and a back pocket behind one row of compartments; contains 8 glass moulded, corked bottles or vials: (a) no label, 1/5 of bottle has whitish-grey powder; (b) no label, bottle 3/4 full of brown powder; (c) undecipherable label, bottle 3/4 full of white salt-like powder; (d) label, bottle is 1/5 full of a fine white powder; (e) undecipherable label, bottle is 1/10 full of a crystallized white powder, brown residue at bottom; (f) undecipherable label, beige residue; (g) no label, bottle 4/5 full of a solid brown substance; (h) undecipherable label, dark brown residue.

Research Facts
Used by donor's grandfather, Dr. John Gillies, graduate of McGill in 1867; practised in Teeswater, Ontario; registered 1875; listed as a druggist 1872-1875; Dr. Gillies had three sons: Ernest, Digby, and Midford, who all became doctors; Midford Gillies practised in Teeswater after graduate work in obstetrics in England; he is listed as a druggist from 1917 to 1930.
