The needle holder is a scissor-like instrument made up of two halves joined with a box lock joint and a snap catch ratchet; the handles are straight with closed rounded finger grips coming off each end; the blades turn upward at a 45° angle and are tapered with rounded tips; the inside of the blades are diamond grooved with a deeper longitudinal groove down the centre.
