Owned and used by Dr. Burns of Napanee, Ont., a graduate of the Queen's University Faculty of Medicine Class of 1947; some items belonged to Dr. Stratton, who held the Napanee practice prior to Dr. Burns.
Engraved on the front of the scissors: "I & B KROME" in italics; at the neck is engraved "AESCULAP" above the logo of a snake entwined around a caduceus rod topped by a crown; on the inside edge of the left arm: "144" and on the right arm: "GERMANY" in italics.
