Jaennicke's nasal snare, which consists of a long, narrow instrument with a round thymb ring and two round finger rings at one end and a tip that flares out and is hollow so as to hold a wire loop; the rings slide up and down a flat bar, which tapers to a cylindrical bar that curves at a 45° angle, straightens, then flares out at the tip; the instrument would have come apart for sterilizing, but is now difficult to move.

The handle has the words "H. PFAU, BERLIN – N.W." stamped into the metal on one side; the upper top of the handle has, "H. PFAU // D.R.G.M." stamped into the metal on one side.
