Research Facts
Small flexible cervical cup made of latex. Designed to fit tightly over the cervix. The cap came in four sizes: 22, 25, 28, and 31mm. The sole distributor of the Prentif Cap was Cervical Cap Ltd., located in the United States. The company dissolved in 2005 and the Prentif Cap is no longer in circulation.
Trademark for Prentif was registered in Canada in 1989, and expunged in 2005 after a failure to renew. According to a news release from Cervical Cap Ltd., the North American distributor, the Prentif cervical cap ceased production in 2005.
