Copper T-380 intrauterine device, which consists of a piece of narrow, solid cylindrical polyethylene formed into a "T" shape with thin copper wire wrapped tightly around the length of the main shaft; the upper horizontal bar has a solid copper sleeve on both sides between the centre and the outer tips; the bottom of the main shaft has a small hole through it, which allows the attachment of a nylon string.

#1: The IUD shows very little wear; the copper wire has been stretched out of place in one section; it appears to never have been in a patient, as the nylon string is long; the polyethylene shows no damage or staining; no corrosion is visible.
