Back brace made for a large child or a small adult; the brace consists of a waist section made of flat metal bent into an oval shape and open at the front; coming off the back of the oval are two flat metal bars, which would have supported the wearer's back; these bars are 3 cm apart from each other and are strengthened at the top by a horizontal piece of metal joined to them; the inside of the brace has a beige felt-covered leather padding (at the waist and back areas); the waist section was tightened with a leather belt and metal buckle; there were also adjustable straps at the top - only one remains and it has been repaired

Condition Remarks
The brace is extremely worn; there are several "home-made" sewn repairs visible in the leather - especially at the waist; one of the back braces has been strengthened with what appears to be a file bound on with string; the one remaining strap at the top has been repaired with cloth sewn around the strip of leather; another sewn repair appears at the top to reattach the leather padding to the metal brace
